Lucas loves TV craft shows. Art Attack from Disney, and Mr. Maker, from Discovery Kids, are his favorite ones. Some time ago Mister Maker taught how to create a Grass-Head, and of course, Lucas "wanted it so much!" We took an old nylon stocking foot, filled its tip with a tablespoon of grass seeds, and stuffed the foot with cotton. Then we tied a knot in the stocking, leaving excess to make the nose and gluing google eyes and a plastic smile. We placed the "head" on top of a plastic container, and Lucas watered it.
One week later, the grass was growing! But the eyes and the mouth fell off, I have to glue them with a super glue...
Actually you can make a lot of Grass-Heads in many colors and shapes, it's a matter of imagination. With all the rain that has been falling lately, this head will soon be hairy like Rapunzel.

Here they call them Chia Pets and are popular too. I think they're actually nutritious but don't quote me on that. I'm glad Lucas can participate in this craft and watch nature grow!
That is wonderful that Lucas has a craft project. I know Chia Pets (like Suzie said) are very popular here.
What a great idea! Something fun to do that costs next to nothing - great!
How much fun will Lucas have giving his Grass Head a haircut?
