ABC Wednesday - J is for John Lennon
I could only think of John Lennon to my J post today. He was this incredible genius Beatlesman (oh.. Beatles is for another long post!), musician, activist, songwriter who has shaken my ground a great lot. When John was murdered, I was in my grandparents' house, and I remember seeing my grandpa crying while watching the news on TV. I was only 11, and with all the feverish passion a eleven-year-old girl can be face a tragic death like this, I devoured everything I could put my hands on about him and his art. Mind Games and Imagine's lyrics were another impact in my life, because they translated myself in many ways.
His hatred-by-some-many relationship with Yoko Ono also influenced me my thoughts and feelings - there was a man who wasn't ashamed (and who didn't give a damn to others' opinions) of diving deeply into a love story that truly made him whole, with all the ups and downs it can bring. He was human, with all imperfections it encompasses, learning and trying to be a better man, when a coward took his life away, depriving us of an awesome talent.

He was a unique and talented individual with a wonderful outlook on life and the world he lived in. Lovely post, Nydia! Enjoy the rest of your week!

He certainly was a talented musician.
I like your graphic of him BTW. :)
You have certainly captured John in your narrative. It was a good read. He was remarkable!
We will always love the music.
He was well worth both a J and a B. A pity he is gone.
A worthy subject for your post. He was a great songwriter, and much more.
Oh yes, what a legend! So many memories!
Thanks so much for contributing!

He was quite an extraordinarily talented man. Another J word is"Jude".
Oh, I'm such a fan of his!!
What a wonderful tribute to an incredible "J"! John Lennon: a genius and so impacting, even after being taken from our world far too soon. Anyone he touched (which is just about everyone in the entire universe! LOL!) can pinpoint exactly what they were doing when the news of his untimely death hit the airwaves. He and the Beatles are definitely a major mark on my time line, that's for sure.
Thanks for sharing this and the comment on my blog. Very nice drawing!
John Lennon was indeed one of the "greats". I remember hearing the news of his tragic death.
I like his songs too. Too bad he died early. Happy weekend!
ABC Wednesday-J for Jump & Joy
A good post indeed.
I always feel especially sad when I watch the film of him playing Imagine and that he did not live to write and play more great songs,
He's a legend!
I also like John Lennon's songs inspired by my aunt-in-law. Yeah, she's a woman yet she sang (whenever there's some important family occasions) John Lennon's songs and there am I fantasizing to know his all songs.. :) and by the way, I didn't know that he was murdered until I saw your post. Thanks for sharing and all that sentiments of his life and how it brought up on you.. thanks! And also kisses back.. :) Now my third thank is for visiting my J is for JEANS for an ABC Wednesday entry. ~hugs~
I followed this blog of yours by the muahh. :) ~hugs&kisses~
When my sisters, neighbor & I used to lipsynch to Beatles records when we were kids, I was always John. Have tons of Beatles and Lennon music. There's a photo of Lennon in my office.
Can't believe it'll be 30 years in December since he died. He would have been 70 in October.
This is such a nice tribute to Mr. Lennon. I still get sad every time I think about him dying so young.
Oh, the one and only!! He would have been 70 this coming October... great choice for J.

A lovely tribute to a musical icon. What wonderful talent he had. Good J!
Missed here as well.
A post from what would have been John's 69th birthday.
