... So I just received an anonymous email... Summoning it up, this anonymous was complaining that my blog is very "childish", and that I shouldn't be so shallow on my posts. Simply like that. o_O

So okay. Let's see if I understand. Someone - wh doesn't have the guts to show his/her face and uses the lazy anonymous ID - takes his/her precious time to email me, to say that he/she doesn't like my page. And so what?

To start with, this is my page. I can post about whatever I want. From the fart that the dog on the street uses to poison the air to my notorious boring migraines, from the sweet things my son says to his cute drawings he makes for me, I can post whatever I want to. My ruuuules... No one needs to come and visit my page, no one is under torture to stop by here and read my posts.

When I started this blog, I never had any intentions of sounding smart, intellectual, sophisticated, whatever. I am what I am, I'm simple, I'm not smarter that anyone else, I'm too clumsy to be sophisticated, and intellectual, pffft... I can't pretend to be who I am not.

I could blog about politics, since Brazil is a cradle of incredibly dirty politicians that stain our papers everyday, and it's a subject we learn to talk and discuss and argue about since almost childhood. We do have it at breakfast here. But as the blog title very obviously displays, here is all about "my days and nights as a Brazilian wiccan mom". I like to keep it simple. To come here and show my little witch's last adventures, last discoveries and challenges on our solitary path. I like to post about my witchcrafts, about the deities that are literally born everyday on my lap.

I do like to keep - except on rare occasions - these deep, "grown up" issues out of my blog garden... Although I love to read about them at my friends' pages, and to give my opinion when I feel it's worthy sharing my thoughts. Here this is my place to relax, to eventually vent - like now - and to read my beloved faithful insane readers's lovely words. Oh but don't you think that I expect to only read positive words, like a spoiled child who can't get a no as an answer, or can't stand the fact that I will not please everybody unanimously. I can bear healthy critiques. What I don't bear and I really don't deal well with is to open my email box and find a short, rude, pointless message, gods know from whom, saying that my page is not good enough for this soul. Frankly, pardon my language, but as I said on the second paragraph, instead of taking such precious time to type those miserable lines, simply fuck off my page, and get a life.

Darling girl....people who can't fess up to their own stupid viewpoints and say who they are, are not worth a moment's worry or concern. You are a beautiful person, loved by many and obviously envied by a "chicken poop" or else they would have kept their such as it is opinion to themselves or put their name to it. I admire who you are, how you handle yourself and how you raise a terrific kid. Pffffffft on anything else. XXOO Linda

Anonymous is synynomous with cowardice, and that only means there is enough to your blogs to make the person comment while in.hiding. In short, you must be doing something right, so keep on doing it!

Oh my Nydia ! yes that is just the cowardly way . lol loook at the blogs out therer based on the concept of simplcity ;-)
horray for we simpltons !!
I always say I may be simple I'm not stupid ☺
Nydia you have a blog that also involves your child . Many of us mums do and many of us mums if and when we want or feel we will be writing about the so called adult stuff we make other blogs .
I'm like you .I most of the time for example keep my natural catholic blog about health , herbals stuff , alternative medicine etc. I rarely will mention child abuse because I have a blog for that , same regarding abortion I have a blog for that .
If people don't like it they can stay away . if they felt your or my blog were harmful to others they can report it .
there are all kinds of bored , kooky people out there ! You are a beautiful mum and I am glad your blog is easy to read , visually pleasing & not full of tons of stuff. There are homeschooling , mum blogs I cannot visit . I can't handle blogs that have so much stuff and leave me feeling I'm not a good enough mum , wife , granny , homemaker etc. I'm trying the best I can you are too ☺

ps. Nydia have you thought to add the comment feature that has a comment only posted after your approval ? I have that on all my blogs now . because of my blog on abuse it also attracts really horrid perverts too .I'd get some really awful comments some linking to bad stuff etc. so I now just have all comments wait moderation .it is an easy & handy feature too .

People are so nasty sometimes.
Hope s/he feels itchy as we talk about her/him.

I love seeing Lucas growing up! He's evolving into a very compassionate and healthy little being, because of you. If someone don't like to see that. well, they can surely pass your blog... Why sending a nasty email? I don't get it.

My blogs IS mainly about my children as well, because, well, it's my life and I can't blog about something I don't live. So blog about what you love and live, and we normal being will read it :)

I've been reading your blog for a while, never really posted a comment, but this just rude. Like you said, this blog is about your time as a Wiccan mother. I don't have a child of my own but reading about your son and what he does brings nothing but a smile to my face. Screw who ever sent that email because you obviously have many people who enjoy reading.

Keep it up!

Lots of us love your blog. Who cares what some anonymous, cowardly a-hole has to say? Your blog is great and I enjoy reading it and seeing all the pictures you post. Mr./Ms. A. Nonymous can kiss my butt.

I can't believe someone would say that to you! I love to ready about what's going on in your life. A lot of people write blogs just to decompress from their daily lives. I've always looked at blogging like this: I like my readers and I like to please my readers, but they wouldn't read my blog and what I'm talking about if they didn't like it. The fact that they would read your blog, then email you and tell you to "stop being so childish" is absurd! They are obviously the childish ones and if I knew who they were I would love to tell them "If you don't like a blog, don't read it, and don't be a rude ass and email the writer just to talk crap to them." Ugh the nerve of some people!

Nydia, I've followed your blog for a long time now, and while I don't always take the time to leave comments, that doesn't mean that I'm not enjoying the journey.

You said it so well. .our blogs are whatever we make it to be, and no one forces another to read it. For most of us, blogging, whether writing, or reading another, is a form of recreation. .a bit of relaxation away from the rest of the world's troubles, and it does the mind and spirit a world of good.

You provide that spark for a lot of people, whether you intended to or not. .that is your gift to the rest of us, and we appreciate the time that you share with us.

I'm so happy that you stood up to that bully, and that you aren't going to change a thing! We love you just as you are!!

This is so ridiculous! I love your blog! Dont worry about people like that, they're just miserable and trying to make everyone else that way as well. Your blog is great and I really enjoy reading it! Good for you for taking a stand!

Many blessings )O(

That drives me insane. I mean really, a blog is like letting someone read your diary. Don't criticize. And if you don't like what you read, then don't read! Geez!

p.s. Friending you an Facebook

Ooops, hit the friend request when my husband's page was up! Ignore that one.

People can be so mean. I'm with you, honey. This is YOUR blog and if they don't like it they don't need to read it. I happen to love your blog!

Great vent! And exactly the right point, no one has to read this. If you think it is so bad then stop reading it and find something else to do with your time. And the cowardly thing just makes it that much worse. I'd be fuming.

Kristen Eaton said...

Ridiculous, and so rude. As you say, a healthy suggestion is one thing, but anonymous insults are a waste of everyone's time. For myself (and obviously for a lot of others!) your blog is lovely, interesting, and refreshing.

Nydia I love your awesome posts and your blog, love how you told them off. Take it stride there are idiots everywhere and they just wish they had the balls to write about something so intimate as their religious walk and their life.
thanks for posting and sharing with us
be blessed

Sorry to hear you had such a trying experience. I enjoy your posts and following Lucas as he grows up. I don't comment all the time, but do stop by to read what's happening. - Margy

I happen to love your blog. I know I don't comment very much but I do have you in my Google Reader so that I don't miss a post.

People who email to say that they don't like your blog in fact have control issues. For whatever reason, they seem to think that by emailing you it means you will take the blog down. I feel sorry for those people for leading such an unhappy life. Hopefully they find some peace within very soon and stop the madness.

#1 If someone doesn't have the balls to put their name to their comments, they are just a chicken shit - excuse my language.

That just boils down to: "I know I'm saying something rude and mean and I don't want other people to know it's me, because I'd be embarrassed to act this way in public under my own name!" Grrrrrrrrrr!!!!!

#2 It's your blog, you can post all day long about those dog farts. You probably write more interesting posts about dog farts than "anonymous" could write about anything.

#3 You are a gorgeous, intelligent, bilingual mom raising an awesome kid alongside your amazing and supportive family. Obviously "anonymous" has no life and is jealous.

#4 Did I mention chicken shit?
