ABC Wednesday - S is for Star Wars!

I couldn't resist... As Friday is the 30th Anniversary of The Empire Strikes Back, this is a humble tribute.

Star Wars movies are among my favorite movies ever, it's always fun and touching watching them. All the concept amazed and thrilled the young girl I was back then in the 70s... I remember I used to dance the all the soundtrack with my older brother in my bedroom, he ended up exhausted, and i always wanted more!

My favorite character was Obi-Wan Kenobi. Sir Alec Guiness was perfect, and he was my first moviestar crush (I was a precocious and weird child, LOL). I still love his white hair and noble face in this movie...

To be honest, the "new" trilogy didn't say anything to me - only The Revenge of the Sith made my heart beat a bit faster.

Now my son loves watching it with me, and a new fan generation is born...

May the Force be with you!

I love Star Wars. I watched the original three all the time growing up and also didn't like the new ones. They lost something with the special effects and bad acting. I liked the costumes, storyline and actors from the 70's much, much, much better.

Have you ever watched Spaceballs? I think it's funny, hubbie and I quote lines all day long. He is a big star wars fan, even liked the newer ones.

Yes, Danni, that's what sucks in the newer ones! Too much effects and little acting, arght... Can't be cmpared to the 70s trilogy!

Angie, I've never heard of Spaceballs, but now I have to get to know it! I'll google it. Thanks for the tip!

I almost feel guilty for never having seen any of the Star Wars - sometimes I'm tempted to start even though I'm so late! :)

I never really got into Star Wars, but my hubby and both my boys love it, so I've seen them all many, many (many, many, many!) times.

I guess if they can sit through multiple viewings of Harry Potter, I can't complain, lol!!

I loved the original trilogy. Star Wars (the 1st, or 4th movie) is one of my favorites.

Saw the 1st (or 4th) of the "new" trilogy and HATED it.

How can anyone not love Alec Guinness as Obi Wan Kenobi? He was perfect, wasn't he?

One of my sons was (and is still) a huge Star Wars fan, so I watched them all, several times. Neither of us rates the new retrospective movies much, either.

On behalf of the team, thanks for taking part in ABC Wednesday this week! :)
