Working on dandelions

Remember that we harvested some dandelions and put them to dry a couple of weeks ago? They dried very well in to my wardrobe and last night we prepared them for Moon Shine's tincture.

Well, the leaves were dry but I put them for 5 minutes into the hot oven just to make them get crumbly and easier to deal with - I don't think it was a bad thing, ;P
My little witch loved taking the bigger leaves to put into the glass jar:

I filled half the jar with Brazilian cachaça (a sugar-cane beverage), since we didn't have whisky or vodka at home as suggested by Moon Shine, but according to him, it's a good substitute:

Then I completed filling it with water, put the lid and placed it under my wardrobe - the darkest place in my room, lol! It will stay there for one month until is completely ready for use. The rest of the leaves were enthusiastically reduced to powder by Lucas and stored in a tin can for future witchy use, along with the dried roots.

Of course my little witch wanted to make a divination potion, using hot water in his cauldron and a generous pinch of the dried leaves, and he kept watching the images formed in the brew. His little mind went wild and he said he could see, in this sequence: a green man, an old man holding a sickle, a seahorse and a man holding a snake in each hand, lol! Don't ask me about it, I decided agreeing and calling it anight then! ;)

Our little witch is quite the seer, isn't he? Fascinating Nydia! I love that he sees people, it shows that he is a very well socialized child and has a strong connection to the human race. Oh making potions with you must have been so much fun!

such interesting images! such strong masculine imagery--seahorses (male carrying children) is inspired. well, you aren't scottish & not living in scotland, so why use whiskey? ;) strong blood your young man has.

What an old soul Lucas is. I feel you were family in another life and one of the reasons you work so well together. It's beautiful to watch all the work you do with each other, Nydia!

Sounds like you guys had a great time. I must say the little witch is an amazing kid. Many blessings to you both.

What a fun time! Maybe your Witch can share some of his gift, my divination skills are practically nonexistent. And when I see something I can never tell what it means, unless it yells at me in a dream.

You might need to start keeping a divination journal for Lucas! See if any of those things he saw crops up anywhere in the next few months (I'm betting they will!).

I just love that you do these things together. I was reading just yesterday about a goddess that held a snake in each hand...hmmmm...now who was that? It was a story being told within the book "Dance of the Dissident Daughter." Ok, I looked it up. It was Ariadne, Minoan Crete's Snake Goddess. She is also connected to labyrinths.

I would have loved to have been able to do this as a child! I'm convinced my potion-making abilities are innate (or I'm in entirely the wrong profession), but perhaps if I'd started divination at his age I wouldn't suck quite so much at it, lol!
