ABC Wednesday - K & L

I'm a week late! So I'm posting post both letters K & L.

This was taken last October, at a friend's b-day party. This is Knight Lucas riding his mini-horse, all proud for being brave and enjoying it, under dad's close eye. It was his first time, and the sweet horse called "Farinha" - Flour in English - was so calm that he wanted more and more! Lucas thanked and fed Farinha after his ride, and that afternoon was a special one, when we all had fun in a beautiful place:

Also for L, here's my Little Library at home (this TV needs to be placed somewhere else, it spoils my bookshelf!). We're addicted to books, and I just can't let them go after reading them. I'm the kind of person who would read anything I can put my hands on, but I'm Stephen King, Asimov and Gabriel Garcia Marques' biggest fan - this trio has a growing section every month. And of course, the Magick authors have a special place, with books by Scott Cunninghan, Starhawk, Marion Zimmer Bradley, etc. Lucas is already growing a passion for books too, can't imagine why... :) . I'd love to hear from you about your fav authors & books!

Yes, library is a very important "L" word, but Lucas is the star!

Nice combination of K and L with Knight Lucas! I didn't even think of library.

What a cute picture of Lucas! He looks incredibly happy.

I have quite the library, too. I love to read historical fiction about the Tudor period-- Henry VIII, Anne Boleyn, and Elizabeth I. My favorite pagan author is Ann Moura. Salem's Lot is my all-time favorite Stephen King book!

A personal library is worth its weight in gold - any library for that matter.

I'll go along with Asimov - I've at least a hundred (but that is not much with his production!)

Kids and Ponies go together like Peanut Butter and Jelly - they just seem to make a good match! I should know... I grew up owning a pony myself, and then went on to ride big horses. I'm now, after several years out of the saddle, taking up riding again.

Lucas looks so cute in the saddle, and quite comfortable as well. I hope he finds more opportunities to enjoy such pleasures... horses can be good companions, even if only for a day.

I too am a big reader, but because I have moved so much in the last few years, my library has gotten smaller and smaller as I have had to get rid of books so I don't have to pack them up for moving. But I still have a pretty good sized collection. I too love the writing of Marion Zimmer Bradley, as well as that of Jean Auel, who wrote Clan of the Cave Bear and other books in the Earth's Children Series. However, I tend to read more non-fiction or fiction that is based on true events, such as historical fiction (much like turtleheart!) But I also like to read mysteries - PD James is a favorite.

As for magickal books, my favorite author would probably have to be Starhawk. I also like "Book of Shadows" by Phyllis Currot and the writings of Amber K.

One of my favorite books is "The Prophet" by Kahlil Gibran. I find this book to be quite soothing when I'm feeling troubled.

I have a broad interest, and my library reflects that. I guess I go more by the book than by the author - if a book interests me, I will read it, regardless of whether it's a popular author or not.

Just keep me away from those trashy romance novels... I have no interest in that sort of thing.

Oh lucus is so cute. He looks like he is enjoying riding that horse.
I never have enough room for all my books. Building a shelf up high the way you have yours looks like a good idea
